Watermouth Cove
Keith Alseford, the HM of tiny Watermouth Cove was away at lunch when I visited on foot, but I was equally sad to miss the owners of Solway Dog!
.
The realities of the Bristol Channel are no better illustrated than in this tiny cove. It was low tide when I was there, and as you can see..... there is NO sea! Chatting to a boat owner Tom, who was sheltering in the boot of his car with his labrador, he explained to me how a labyrinth of chains on the beach allowed so many boats to be moored in this hidden inlet. The harbour is privately owned.... and between you and me some of the rusty chains could do with renewing! .
On up the Bristol Channel....
